Writers Unite Intro Post

WritersUniteBanner
I heard about NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month before but never really thought about it. Til I saw Jessic, from The Tangerine, post about Writers Unite. I of course checked all out and thought, why not. I want to finish at least one of my book ideas and this is a great way to start. So here we go.

My name is Cody and I travel two hours to school twice a week. It's only for this semester. I am hopping to get my degree for Marine Biologist but who knows. I love to read, blog, write and I enjoy life. <3

My book currently doesn't have a title but lets go with The Decay Desiease. It will be in the style of Young Adult. The book sysonsis that I wrote for NaNoWritMo is "Dahlia lives during a confusing time of zombies or rotters. Being 17 and alone, she decided to take a dramatic step and accept help from a family enemy, Cladwell. The man who murder her mother. Yet, what Dahlia doesn't know is his side of the story."

I don't know how far I will get but I want to try. I am really nervous about joining and writing but maybe this will help spark that writer I have inside.

New Design!

As many of you have seen, I have been trying to find a new blog design for the longest! I was trying to design one myself to save money. All that was doing was stressing myself out. I couldn't take it anymore and decided to buy a premade blogger design. I looked for WEEKS (two days a week) and I finally settled on five. After three days looking back and forth, I finally choose a design by This Girl Design. I loved all her simple, clean designs so it was easy to make the choice. Then I picked out her "A Peach Can Talk" premade. Since there was a sale I was even able to add on some widgets!
Suzana, from This Girl Loves, was the BEST designer I have ever talked to. She worked with me from beginning to end. I even had a few fixes that she was so wonderful to take care of. What is more awesome is that if you follow her on any social media, she will install for free! Talk about stress free! I followed her on BlogLovin not just because of the free installation but because I love what she blogs about. sweet down to home life and design. I will definitely be working with her in the future and recommend her Etsy Shop.

I did this post because I wanted to share how amazing Suzana was. This was NOT a sponsored post.

Literary Junkies Link Up: October 2013

1. What are you currently reading? Tell us a bit about it!
Grounded by Angela Correll
Right now I am reading Grounded. I didn't realize that this book would be this great. I have about six more chapters to read before the end and I have so many questions about the main character. Will she go? Will she stay where she is? What will she do with them? Oh the list goes on. When I picked up the book I didn't think that I would be this engaged. I can't wait to finish reading it.

2. What are your five most recent book purchases?
I haven't really bought any new books. I have gotten a few free but I haven't read them yet. I am excited to finish them, if school would lighten up a bit.
3. Have you ever named/nicknamed anything (person, pet or thing) after a character? Who and why?
Nothing really in real life, but when I play ZooTycon or Sims on the computer, I usually name the animals/people after characters. I remember playing the Sims and having a whole "Phantom of the Opera" family. It was really fun playing out the story in my own version
4. If you could live in one book, all of its characters and in the town, which would it be?
That's a hard question. My favorite book "Music of The Dolphins" doesn't really have a 'town'. My third one "Hunger Games: Mocking Bird" is a really really tribulation book. That leaves my Second one, "Redeeming Love" it's sad but I would love to be apart of the towards the end of the book. Another book I wouldn't mind living in is "Matched". Although I don't like the ending, I do however love the society and I would love to live during that and be apart of the characters chooses.
5. Can you think of a book you read that taught you something concrete that you've never forgotten? Tell us about it
I have read several books that taught me something. I am kinda saving this question for a whole post but you can check the books that are apart of this list, here.

Notice Me

I was listening to a few songs the other day and in each song a phrase kept repeating. It was "notice me" and it reminded me of back when I was in high school and that was all I wanted for many reasons. It also made me wonder, how many other girls or women might feel the same. It must be hard to try and be the best you can be and yet still no one say or notices anything about you. It made me feel sad that there might be bloggers out there like that. So I wanted to create a series on my blog called "Notice Me". I know it sounds vain but I wanted to create this series to show the women I have come to know through blogging. I want them, and you, to know how awesome you are, not matter what you are struggling with.

Julie from Awkward to Art is beautiful! She is sweet, honest, kind and curious. I loved getting to know her through her blog. I even went as far as read from the beginning to the newest post. (Although, I am still reading). She has three children and wants another. I can't image. They are all beautiful and unique like her. She loves God and I am soooooo inspired by her. She writes amazing. I would love to see her take that talent and make a book. I would be first in line. On her blog you can read TONS of post about God and how He talks to her and us. I am never short of amazed by her blog. I count her as a HUGE blessing!

Trichotillomania, eyelash and eyebrow pulling
Aunie from Aunie Sauce is the sauce. haha. Okay really she is amazing. She is one of the many first blogger friends I made. I love her and her blog. She is sweet, funny, honest and stylish! She was married at the end of last year. It was so neat to read that. It was also amazing to read about her new house. But what amazes me is that she suffers with trichotillomania, a disorder to pull out hair (of anywhere) to a noticeable degree. She is fighting it everyday. She is honest about slip ups, which I think is HUGE. One little hair won't hurt anyone BUT she says so anyways. She wants to stay on top of it. She is a huge inspiration to me and I am sure many girls that suffer with it. Her talent is to be open and honest. To inspire and to encourage others that suffer with anything. It has been a HUGE blessing to know her and her blog.

Kaitlyn from Wifessionals is beautiful. Look at that tummy. This is her first child and it was sooo neat to read through her experience. She just had her baby two weeks ago and I can't wait to see the wonderful adorableness of her little one. Kaitlyn has talent. She start Cara Boxes, a monthly swap to make friends. When she wasn't busy organizing those, she was busy writing uplifting posts. I love reading her post and now that she has a little one, it's a whole new adventure. She is going to be an amazing mother. Did you know that she spent her entire preancy helping other bloggers and small businesses. She has TONS of post for new moms. It's great. It is a HUGE blessing to know that she is in the blogging community.

I really hope that you follow these amazingly talented bloggers BUT I didn't create this series to drum up their blog OR to get you to follow. I made this series to show off their talents. I made this it to encourage bloggers and women. I want to encourage you too; watch the video below for more inspiration.
