Book Ends March 2013

A monthly post about what books I have read.  Read January's HERE.

Summary: Cole receives a one-year banishment to a remote Alaskan island. There, he is mauled by Mysterious white bear of Native American legend. Hideously injured, Cole waits for his death His thoughts shift from from Anger to humility. To survive, he must stop blaming others and take responsibility for his life. Rescuers arrive to save Cole's but it is the attack of the Spirit Bear that may save his soul.

My thoughts: Very Emotional story. I was touched at this whole book and think this be read in schools. I also hope that circle justice is real and in practice because I believe that it would give kids/teens a chance.

Summary: Meggie's father Mo has an interesting talent: when he reads aloud, things, and sometimes people, come out of their stories and into the real world! But now the evil Capricorn wants to use Mo's talents to bring himself great wealth and power. Then Meggie discovers that maybe Mo isn't the only one who can read things to life.

My thoughts: I really enjoyed how this ended but it took awhile to get there. Some chapters seemed to go on and on. It was really interesting though. I love how at the beginning of every chapter Cornella quoted something from another book/poem.

CURRENTLY READING:

Summary: Although a year has passed, not a day goes by without Meggie thinking of INKHEART, the book whose characters became real. But for Dustfinger, the fire-eater brought into being from words, the need to return to the tale has become desperate. When he finds a crooked storyteller with the ability to read him back, Dustfinger leaves behind his young apprentice Farid and plunges into the medieval world of his past. Distraught, Farid goes in search of Meggie, and before long, both are caught inside the book, too. But the story is threatening to evolve in ways neither of them could ever have imagined.

So, as you can see, I failed. I didn't read hardly any books last month.  I had to pay off my library before I could get more could check out any books, so I have been mostly reading what I had at the house already. (My moms kinda like a book hoarder, in a good way.) Once I got my library card paid off, it was on. I grabbed like 5 before I forced myself to hold back. Next month's link up will have TONS more books. Just wait and see. ;]
