Rebranding

I have not blogged here in about four months. In February, it was just Holiday burn out. Then March came and I started thinking about my blog until April happened. April was one of those months that plow right through. June passed right on by and now it's July.

However, during all that time off I have been thinking. I read several articles online about our social media impact. About what we post online and the affects it has. Those articles really has me thinking. I might not care today what I post but in tens years, things might change. I don't want too much of myself to be online yet I don't want to give up blogging. So where is the balance? Where do I know to draw the line? More importantly, then what do I blog about? I thought over these questions during my unexpected time off.

To me, a blog is very public, anyone can stumble upon and read. It's a great resource, if use correctly. Blogging can build relationships, give great help articles and be an outsource. However, I've seen one one too many blog fall into the negative. I've see them share WAY to many details about their home life and I can see it tare away their personal relationships. I can see the great holes where a nasty person can weasel themselves in. Blogging that way doesn't look good and what's worse, blogging that way is not hard. In fact, many pins on pinterest help follow that path.

I will not be one. I will not let my blog be a place to whine, complain or be negative.  Sure, it's life and it's hard. But that doesn't mean you should write, or spit, out as the tough times rolls. Blog afterwards, when you can turn negative into positive.

With that written, I will be withdrawing all my post written about my life. The people in my life deserve privately, even if they said okay. I don't need to tell their story, it is their and theirs alone. Another thing, I would never want something I wrote to bite me later, even if it seems harmless. The internet is an unforgiving place. Even small mundane stories or photos can be turned and twisted, I have been there and seen it.

That doesn't mean I can't have a blog. Nor doesn't mean goodbye. Just that I will no longer blogging here on this blog anymore. Follow my artist journey: https://codydollstudio.wordpress.com/

Thank you everyone for following me. I hope you understand. If you don't that's alright. I hold nothing against anyone.

FREE Yearly Editorial Calendar for ANY blogger

This is a simply layout for Google.com/drive. Make sure that you are signed in or create an account. Then just click the link above to access the layout. Highlight all or Ctrl+A and then copy by keyboard, Ctrl+C. Then create a new spread sheet for yourself and paste the layout inside, Ctrl+V. Now just rename to whatever you want and you have a simple, free editorial calendar.

Once you have it saved I would recommend adding in any holidays, festivals, and anything else  that you celebrate. That way you can remember when something is, like Corn Festival, and plan around it. Also if you really get stumped try adding a new column to the layout meant just for silly national/state days; such as eat a hot day day, tickle your dog and free hug days. That way you always have something that you can act on and post about.

Your welcome. ;]

Check out this post for idea on how to create blog post for the year. Or come back here to find out more.

Update 10/19/14: I am afraid this is no longer available thanks to google changing google drive.

New Design!

As many of you have seen, I have been trying to find a new blog design for the longest! I was trying to design one myself to save money. All that was doing was stressing myself out. I couldn't take it anymore and decided to buy a premade blogger design. I looked for WEEKS (two days a week) and I finally settled on five. After three days looking back and forth, I finally choose a design by This Girl Design. I loved all her simple, clean designs so it was easy to make the choice. Then I picked out her "A Peach Can Talk" premade. Since there was a sale I was even able to add on some widgets!
Suzana, from This Girl Loves, was the BEST designer I have ever talked to. She worked with me from beginning to end. I even had a few fixes that she was so wonderful to take care of. What is more awesome is that if you follow her on any social media, she will install for free! Talk about stress free! I followed her on BlogLovin not just because of the free installation but because I love what she blogs about. sweet down to home life and design. I will definitely be working with her in the future and recommend her Etsy Shop.

I did this post because I wanted to share how amazing Suzana was. This was NOT a sponsored post.

Check out this awesome affect and this amazing designer:
